Job summary

HP in Chennai is seeking an AI Project/Program Manager to drive governance, portfolio visibility, and operational excellence across Applied AI and Automation initiatives. You will partner with Delivery Managers, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure consistent project execution, accurate reporting, and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7–12 years of experience in engineering development, project planning tools and software packages.

Responsibilities

• Drive governance across Applied AI and Automation portfolio, ensuring adherence to project management standards and reporting frameworks.
• Partner with Delivery Managers to monitor project execution, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation plans across multiple initiatives.
• Own portfolio reporting, executive dashboards, KPI tracking, and management reporting for timely business insights.
• Maintain portfolio data quality and project data hygiene across enterprise systems, ensuring consistency and reporting accuracy.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, milestones, and action items while following up to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate portfolio planning activities including resource capacity planning, utilization reporting, demand forecasting, and workforce allocation.
• Consolidate project information to provide portfolio health reporting and executive visibility.
• Facilitate governance reviews, portfolio reviews, steering committees, and leadership updates.
• Track project financial metrics, budget utilization, and forecasting for transparent leadership reporting.
• Establish standardized reporting templates and portfolio management best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align priorities and delivery commitments.
• Monitor risks, dependencies, and escalations to drive timely resolution with stakeholders.
• Support strategic planning, portfolio prioritization, and executive decision-making with accurate metrics and insights.
• Drive continuous improvement through reporting automation and Applied AI solutions to improve efficiency.

Job Summary

• Role is responsible for driving governance, operational excellence, and portfolio visibility across the organization's Applied AI and Automation initiatives. The role partners closely with Delivery Managers, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure consistent project execution, accurate portfolio reporting, effective resource capacity planning, and proactive risk management.

The position owns portfolio data integrity, executive dashboards, project milestone tracking, and cross-functional governance processes while ensuring timely reporting of project health, financial status, deliverables, and resource utilization. By establishing standardized reporting, maintaining high-quality project data, and providing actionable business insights, the role enables informed decision-making and supports the successful delivery of strategic transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive governance across the Applied AI and Automation portfolio by ensuring adherence to project management standards, governance processes, and reporting frameworks.

• Coordinate portfolio planning activities, including resource capacity planning, utilization reporting, demand forecasting, and workforce allocation.
• Consolidate project information from multiple enterprise platforms to provide comprehensive portfolio health reporting and executive visibility.
• Facilitate governance reviews, portfolio review meetings, executive steering committees, and leadership updates.
• Track project financial metrics, budget utilization, and forecasting, providing transparent reporting to leadership.
• Establish standardized reporting templates, governance processes, and portfolio management best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Engineering, Business Operations, PMOs, Finance, and executive leadership to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery commitments.
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, and escalations while driving timely resolution through effective stakeholder coordination.
• Support strategic planning, portfolio prioritization, and executive decision-making by providing accurate operational metrics and business insights.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying reporting automation opportunities and leveraging Applied AI solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Bahelors degree, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-12 years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages,
