Job summary

Aequs Hubli-based Sustenance Engineering Lead will drive end-to-end manufacturing operations with a strong ownership of process engineering during mass production. The role collaborates with NPD, quality, supply chain, and production to enable rapid, cost-effective, and high-quality product industrialization, including scaling greenfield capabilities.

You will lead surface finishing operations, implement Lean and Six Sigma, manage budgets, and build high-performing teams across a high-mix,

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent; masters preferred.
  • 15+ years manufacturing experience with exposure to high-volume industrialization.
  • Experience in electronics, consumer products, automotive, aerospace or precision engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Industrialization leadership to ensure readiness, DFM/DFA/DFX alignment and ramp cost/quality targets.
  • Lead surface finishing operations and achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, OEE improvements and waste reduction.
  • Ensure documentation, traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Build and scale greenfield manufacturing capabilities and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and interface with customers during ramp-up.

Function: Manufacturing Operations

Job Summary:

The role is responsible for leading endtoend manufacturing operations with a strong ownership of process engineering during mass production. The position ensures seamless collaboration between NPD, quality, supply chain, and production teams to enable rapid, costeffective, and highquality product industrialization. The role includes building greenfield capabilities, scaling operations, and driving operational excellence across surface finishing operations

1. Industrialization Leadership
  • Drive manufacturing readiness prior to industrialization
  • Ensure DFM/DFA/DFX alignment with design, R&D, and customers
  • Improve processes, PFMEA, tooling, and capacity for ramp programs
  • Deliver ramp targets on cost, quality, timeline, and rampupManage risks, validation, and seamless operations
2. Manufacturing Operations
  • Lead surface finishing operations
  • Achieve production targets across safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, OEE improvement, and waste reduction
  • Ensure strong documentation, traceability, and compliance
3. Strategic & Greenfield Development
  • Build and scale greenfield manufacturing operations
  • Align manufacturing strategy with business needs
  • Plan capacity, layout, automation, and technology roadmap
4. Quality, Cost & Performance
  • Drive zerodefect culture through root cause and corrective actions
  • Manage budgets, cost per part, and productivity improvements
  • Track KPIs for cost, schedule, efficiency, and quality performance
5. Leadership & Talent
  • Build and develop highperforming manufacturing teams
  • Strengthen skills in problem solving and process engineering
  • Drive crossfunctional collaboration across teams
6. Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Interface with customers during production rampup
  • Manage change in highmix, fastpaced environments
  • Drive innovation, digital manufacturing, and continuous improvement
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong experience in high-volume industrialisation and highprecision component production
  • Deep knowledge of surface finishing process
  • Expertise in DFM/DFA, process validation, Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering
  • Proven leadership in greenfield setup, scaling operations, and team building
  • Strong project management, decisionmaking, and problemsolving capabilities
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in engineering (masters preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing with significant exposure to high-volume industrialization
  • Experience in electronics, consumer products, automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering preferred.
