Job summary

Aequs Consumer Products Pvt Ltd (ATP) in Hubli seeks an experienced Lead Engineer/Engineer to oversee the anodising production, aiming for efficiency, quality and safety. This role requires strong surface treatment know-how, leadership, and a focus on continuous improvement.

You will drive lean initiatives, monitor critical process parameters, ensure SOP adherence, coordinate maintenance, and mentor operators to sustain high standards across the production line.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in anodising operation (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering as minimum.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of the anodising process to ensure smooth operation.
• Monitor process parameters to ensure coating thickness and adhesion meet specs.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections, and maintain traceability data.
• Ensure SOP compliance and update procedures as needed.
• Identify deviations and lead CAPA activities.
• Apply lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, VSM) to improve productivity and quality.
• Manage chemical dosing, bath health, titrations, and equipment maintenance.
• Train operators and technicians on safety, quality, and process control.
• Use ERP/MES data to plan, track, and generate shift and quality reports.
• Support customer audits, samples, and new product trials.

Job Summary:

The Lead Engineer/Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the anodizing production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This role requiresstrong technical expertise in surface treatment, leadership skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Production Oversight: Plan and supervise all stages of the anodizing process, including pre-cleaning, acid etching, anodizing, colouring, and sealing, to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Adhere to Plan v/s Actual, Plan required manpower and ensure all resources are in place
• 2. Product Quality Assurance: Monitor and control critical process parameters (e.g., temperature, current density, pH levels, dwell time, Tank level, Sensors) to ensure consistent coating thickness, adhesion, and appearance that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• 3. Surface Inspection & Testing: Conduct in-process and final quality inspections, including visual checks, Thickness, gloss, Record and analyse data for traceability and improvement.
• 4. Strict SOP Compliance: Ensure all production activities are performed as per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and control plans. Regularly review and update SOPs based on process changes or improvements.
• 5. Non-Conformance Handling: Identify deviations from standards, investigate root causes, and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain non-conformance logs and initiate immediate containment measures.
• 6. Continuous Process Improvement: Utilize lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce process variability. Drive productivity and quality enhancement initiatives.
• 7. Chemical & Equipment Control: Ensure timely replenishment and accurate dosing of anodizing chemicals. Monitor bath health, perform regular titrations, and coordinate equipment calibration and maintenance with technical teams.
• 8. Team Development & Training: Provide hands-on training to operators and Technician on safety, quality, and process control. Cultivate a culture of accountability and best practices.
• 9. Data-Driven Production Management: Use ERP or MES systems to plan, track, and analyse production data. Prepare shift reports, productivity dashboards, and quality trend charts.
• 10. EHS Compliance: Uphold all environmental, health, and safety guidelines relevant to chemical handling, emissions, waste disposal, and worker protection.
• 11. Customer Support: Collaborate with QA to handle customer audits, feedback, and sample requirements. Support new product trials with robust process capability documentation.

Qualifications:

3-7 - Exp in Anodising Operation preferred; bachelors in mechanical/chemical as minimum
