Job summary

Aptiv PLC in Bengaluru, India invites applications for an Advanced Mechanical Engineer. Responsibilities include developing concept and architecture designs based on customer needs, managing mechanical requirements at system levels, and defining the Mechanical BOM for products.

You will prototype with suppliers and conduct DFMEA while coordinating across teams. You will perform verification planning, testing, and ensure design conformance using Unigraphics NX.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering or CAD/CAM.
  • Automotive experience in new product design and development.
  • Experience with plastic, die‑cast and sheet metal components/assemblies.
  • Design tools like Unigraphics NX & Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA to identify risk and actions.
  • Experience coordinating with customers, suppliers, validation and testing teams.
  • Experience in GD&T and metrology methods.

Responsibilities

Advanced Mechanical Engineer

Your Role:

  • Develop concept and architecture designs based on customer and internal product requirements.

Your Background (6-10 years)

  • Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering or CAD/CAM.
  • Mechanical Engineer with Automobile experience in New product design and development.
  • Hands‑on working experience in product area like Infotainment, Body Control Modules, Radars, Camera, Brackets, ECU’s, Camera’s …
  • Working experience in design and development of plastic, Die‑cast and sheet metal components/assemblie.
  • Experience with product design and development starting from new pursuit until warranty.
  • Ability to do tear down & benchmark studies.
  • Exposure to Mechanical digital simulations methods & tools (Moldflow, Structural, Thermal).
  • Experience with Quality Audits (Internal/External).
  • Experience with customer, supplier, validation, testing team coordination and interactions.
  • Experience in Design tools like Unigraphics NX & Team center.
  • Experience in Change Management (product life cycle management).
  • Knowledge on Metrological instruments/Methods used to measure parts against design with GD&T.
  • Working knowledge on VA/VE, MCIP, cost saving initiatives.
  • Experience in using DFMEA to identify risk and take actions systematically.
