Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Bengaluru to drive the industrialization of Cockpit & Growth products from award phases through series production. You will lead DFM/DFA improvements, manage requirements transfer, and align deliverables with CAQE in a global, lean environment.

Responsibilities include defining production line concepts, optimizing material flow, and coordinating prototype builds with PML and other process engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education required.
• 8–15 years of overall experience; 5+ years in automotive/manufacturing engineering preferred.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to operate in a global network and apply lean manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Industrialize Cockpit & Growth products from award to series production.
• Drive DFM/DFA and ensure producible designs; support kick-off meetings and MSD workshops.
• Manage requirements transfer to PML and align with CAQE on deliverables.
• Define production line concepts with optimized material flow and cycle times; determine packaging needs.
• Lead PDT meetings and escalate issues; maintain MFGE project schedule and milestones.
• Coordinate early prototype builds, equipment needs, and documentation; participate in key build events.

Your Role

• Responsibility for industrialization of Cockpit & Growth products from award phases until series production
• Support kick-off meetings and MSD workshops with/in the PML, create/adapt process flow. Drive DFM and DFA to ensure having a producible design
• Ensure proper requirements management and align with APTIV CAQE accordingly, plan requirements transfer to PML
• Align industrialization deliverables with CAQE, being customer interface for technical discussion
• Work out the production line concept with optimized material flow, estimated cycle times, and traceability concept. Work out supplier packaging requirements
• Attend the regular PDT meetings and drive a proper escalation in case of problems
• Create and maintain the MFGE project schedule respecting the project milestones
• Prepare and organize the milestone build dates with process engineers from PML, starting with early prototype builds and organization of needed prototype equipment, including documentation
• Attend key (prototype) build events for new layouts and all customer attended events
• Track needed equipment and tooling, ensure availability of needed material for all equipment/tool development, install equipment/design reviews before approving start of fabrication/development

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree or similar with technical education
• Overall Exp 8 to 15 Years
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive industry, preferred in manufacturing engineering
• Excellent project management skills
• Good problem solving capability
• Ability to work and live a global network environment
• Great knowledge of lean concepts
• Strong team spirit
• Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive working style
• Business fluent Englishsupervision. Willingness to learn and develop expertise in existing and future manufacturing processes
