Job summary

Aptiv invites a skilled Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our Perception team in Bengaluru. You will drive industrialization of cockpit and growth products from award phases through to series production, coordinate DFM/DFA, manage requirements, and align deliverables with CAQE while interfacing with customers.

The ideal candidate has 8–15 years of overall experience, a technical bachelor’s degree, strong project management and lean expertise, and thrives in a global network environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar with technical education.
  • Overall 8–15 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive industry, manufacturing engineering preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Good problem solving capability.

  • Business fluent English supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Industrialization of Cockpit & Growth products from award phases to series production.
  • Support kick-off meetings and MSD workshops with/in the PML; create/adapt process flow; drive DFM and DFA for producible designs.
  • Ensure proper requirements management and align with CAQE; plan requirements transfer to PML.
  • Align industrialization deliverables with CAQE; act as customer interface for technical discussion.
  • Work out production line concept with optimized material flow, cycle times, and traceability; define supplier packaging requirements.
  • Attend PDT meetings and escalate issues as needed.
  • Create and maintain the MFGE project schedule respecting milestones.
  • Plan milestone builds with process engineers from PML; coordinate prototype equipment and documentation.
  • Attend key prototype build events and customer attended events.
  • Track equipment and tooling; ensure material availability for equipment/tool development; approve fabrication/development start.

Your Role
  • Responsibility for industrialization of Cockpit & Growth products from award phases until series production
  • Support kick-off meetings and MSD workshops with/in the PML, create/adapt process flow. Drive DFM and DFA to ensure having a producible design
  • Ensure proper requirements management and align with APTIV CAQE accordingly, plan requirements transfer to PML
  • Align industrialization deliverables with CAQE, being customer interface for technical discussion
  • Work out the production line concept with optimized material flow, estimated cycle times, and traceability concept. Work out supplier packaging requirements
  • Attend the regular PDT meetings and drive a proper escalation in case of problems
  • Create and maintain the MFGE project schedule respecting the project milestones
  • Prepare and organize the milestone build dates with process engineers from PML, starting with early prototype builds and organization of needed prototype equipment, including documentation
  • Attend key (prototype) build events for new layouts and all customer attended events
  • Track needed equipment and tooling, ensure availability of needed material for all equipment/tool development, install equipment/design reviews before approving start of fabrication/development
Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar with technical education

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive industry, preferred in manufacturing engineering
