Job summary

Atlas Tours And Travels Pvt Ltd in Mumbai seeks an experienced Head of Accounts to lead the accounts team and ensure accurate, timely financial operations across the organization.

You will supervise ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and expense management; review invoices; drive month/quarter/year-end closings; ensure internal controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA/CPA/CMA/ICWA is a plus.
• Several years in accounting with supervisory/lead role.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, statutory compliance and GST/tax.
• Proficient with accounting software/ERP and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day today accounting operations: ledger entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management
• Review and approve financial documents, invoices, and vendor payments
• Ensure month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities are completed on schedule
• Maintain accuracy and compliance in accounting records, policies, and internal controls
• Generate financial and MIS reports; monitor KPIs such as accuracy, turnaround time, aging, error rates
• Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes
• Train, coach, and mentor team members; conduct performance reviews
• Coordinate with other departments (finance, operations, management) to resolve accounting issues and support audits

Lead and manage the accounts team to ensure accurate, timely financial operations. Oversee all accounting functions, mentor team members, enforce controls, and drive process improvements to support business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise day today accounting operations: ledger entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management

Review and approve financial documents, invoices, and vendor payments

Ensure month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities are completed on schedule

Maintain accuracy and compliance in accounting records, policies, and internal controls

Generate financial and MIS reports; monitor KPIs such as accuracy, turnaround time, aging, error rates

Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes

Train, coach, and mentor team members; conduct performance reviews

Required Skills & Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CA / CPA / CMA / ICWA is a plus)

Several years (e.g. 36 years) of accounting experience, with at least some in a supervisory or lead role

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, statutory compliance, GST / tax rules (as applicable)

Proficient with accounting software / ERP systems & MS Excel

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Good leadership, communication, and problem-solvingskills
