Job summary

Carol India in Mumbai seeks an Accounts HOD / Finance & Accounts Manager to lead the entire Finance & Accounts function. You will supervise daily accounting, ensure timely closings, and coordinate audits with auditors and tax consultants.

The role requires deep expertise in GST, TDS, income tax and statutory compliance, with hands-on experience in building strong internal controls and reporting. You will mentor the F&A team and drive financial planning and performance analysis.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA Finance or equivalent; CA preferred.
• Extensive experience in Finance & Accounts with managerial leadership.
• Strong expertise in statutory compliance, audits and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Hands-on with GST, TDS, and income tax processes.

Responsibilities

Accounts HOD / Finance & Accounts Manager

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete Finance & Accounts function of the organisation, including a team of accountants and finance executives.
• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely closure of books.
• Take ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and finalisation of accounts.
• Prepare and review Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, schedules and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, statutory filings, audits and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and manage statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit and financial due-diligence requirements.
• Review and control accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, vendor payments and customer outstanding.
• Monitor working capital, cash flow, fund utilisation and overall financial health of the organisation.
• Prepare MIS reports, management dashboards, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis for management review.
• Establish strong internal controls and accounting processes to minimise errors, leakages and financial risks.
• Review and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, depreciation and other period-end adjustments.
• Ensure timely bank, ledger, customer, vendor, GST and other statutory reconciliations.
• Work closely with management, auditors, bankers, tax consultants and other financial advisors.
• Guide, train and evaluate the Accounts & Finance team and ensure clear allocation of responsibilities.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements in accounting systems, controls and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and applicable financial regulations.
• Support management in financial planning, cost control, profitability analysis and strategic financial decisions.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial and business information.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification; CA preferred.
• 815 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, with substantial experience in a managerial/HOD role.
• Strong hands-on expertise in finalisation of accounts and financial reporting.
• Excellent understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, statutory compliance and audit processes.
• Proven experience in independently handling Balance Sheet, P&L, cash flow, provisions, reconciliations and year-end closing.
• Strong knowledge of working capital management, receivables, payables, cash flow and financial controls.
• Experience in preparing and analysing MIS, budgets, forecasts and management reports.
• Should have the ability to independently manage and develop a team of Accounts & Finance professionals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good command over Tally / ERP / accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems will be an advantage.
• Should be organised, detail-oriented, commercially aware and capable of working directly with senior management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, auditors, consultants, banks, customers and vendors.
• Candidate should demonstrate ownership, integrity, accuracy and accountability for the complete finance function.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently heading the entire Accounts & Finance department, leading the team, ensuring timely finalisation and statutory compliance, controlling working capital and cash flow, and providing management with accurate financial information for business decision-making.
