Job summary

People Equation in Chennai is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable specialist fluent in Japanese to manage transactional processing and month-end closing. You will handle both PO and non-PO invoices, ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance, and work with SAP to maintain accurate vendor data.

Requirements include 3–6 years in AP within manufacturing, strong SAP skills, and mandatory Japanese language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing). B.Com or M.Com is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Experience working with SAP.
• Mandatory: Proficiency in Japanese - speaking, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Process invoicing according to the defined Accounts Payable (A/P) process steps and handle day-to-day booking operations in accordance with GAAP and IFRS guidelines.
• Cooperate with relevant A/P vendors to ensure proper authorization and data accuracy.
• Act as the first point of contact with suppliers and vendors for disputed account discrepancies; report and escalate issues as required.
• Prepare month-end Accounts Payable activities and monthly account reconciliations.
• Drive process innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoicing according to the defined Accounts Payable (A/P) process steps and handle day-to-day booking operations in accordance with GAAP and IFRS guidelines. Processing includes services with and without PO, such as customs, freight, transport, other contract services, and manual invoice entry.
• Closely cooperate with relevant A/P vendors to ensure proper authorization and accuracy of data.
• Act as the first point of contact with suppliers and vendors for disputed account discrepancies; report and escalated issues as required.
• Prepare month-end Accounts Payable activities and monthly account reconciliations.
• Drive process innovation and continuous improvement.
