ELGI Equipments in India is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable leader to oversee our AP function, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payments, and strong vendor relationships. The role will drive process automation and cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Post Graduate degree in accounting or finance, with 8–15 years in AP, and exposure to at least one geography outside India (US, Australia, NZ).

Role Brief

The role holder is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the accounts payable function. This includes ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments, maintaining vendor relationships, and overseeing the reconciliation of vendor accounts. The role also involves coordinating with other departments to streamline invoicing processes, drive automation, and ensure statutory compliance in all accounts payable activities.

Role & responsibilities

• Ensures accurate financial reporting and timely processing of payments, and compliance with financial policies.
• Leads the accounts payable team, ensuring deadlines are met, processes are followed, and issues are resolved efficiently.
• Collaborates to reconcile accounts and ensure timely reporting of AP data in financial statements.
• Ensures purchase orders are matched with invoices for payment processing.
• Provides documentation and approvals for AP processing to ensure smooth operation.
• Ensures timely payments, addresses discrepancies, and maintains positive relationships.
• Coordinates audit processes and provides necessary documentation for audit reviews.
• Ensures adherence to tax regulations and provides necessary documentation for tax filings.

Preferred candidate profile

• Post Graduate in accounting or finance.
• 8 to 15 years of experience in accounts payable.
• Experience managing accounts payable in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in working of at least one additional geography apart from India - US, Australia, New Zealand etc.
