Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in India is seeking an experienced accounting supervisor to oversee a team and ensure efficient financial operations on construction projects.

You will supervise, provide technical support, monitor cost control, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records and reporting deadlines. Ideal candidates hold a B.Com with postgraduate qualifications and 10 years of construction experience, including team management.

Responsibilities

• To supervise accounting team members’ daily deliverables to maintain efficient accounting processes.
• Provide active supervision and technical support for assisting accounting personnel.
• Establish, monitor and maintain accurate accounting records to protect the company’s credibility.
• Plan, monitor and control timely payments according to creditors’ terms to avoid disruptions.
• Monitor and control month-end cost closing to capture costs within the timeframe.
• Maintain data and spreadsheets for monthly progress reports to meet deadlines.
• Maintain and administer records of company-supplied items (petty cash, cars, phones) to protect liabilities.
• Monitor collections for invoices raised to the client.

Job description

• Provide active supervision and technical support for assisting accounting personnel.
• To establish, monitor and maintain accurate accounting records in order to protect the company’s credibility at all times.
• To plan, monitor and control timely payments in accordance with creditors’ payment terms in order to ensure the project progresses without payment related disruptions.
• To monitor and control the month-end cost closing in order to ensure that all costs are captured within the specified time frame.
• To maintain relevant data and spreadsheets required for generation of monthly progress reports in order to meet reporting deadlines.
• To maintain and administer accurate records of company‑supplied items including petty cash, cars, phones, etc. in order to protect the company and staff liabilities.
• To monitor collection for invoices raised to the client.

Qualification, Experience And Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum years of experience

B.Com

Preferably – with post‑graduation

Minimum 10 Years’ Experience In Construction

industry preferred.

Experience in managing an accounting team.

Experience in preparing, controlling and maintaining accurate cost control measures.

An in‑depth understanding of all accounting procedures.
