Job summary

Praya Innovations in India seeks an experienced accountant who understands online sales, payments reconciliations, and consumer-brand accounting. You will manage day-to-day entries, AP/AR, and GST compliance.

The role emphasizes accuracy, bank reconciliations, vendor payments, budget support, and coordination with auditors. Prior D2C or marketplace exposure is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in D2C/e-commerce/retail.
• Hands-on experience reconciling online sales, refunds, COD remittances, payment gateway settlements, and logistics deductions.
• Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS, AP, AR, bank and payment reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with Tally, Zoho Books, or similar accounting software.
• Ability to independently investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Important

This role requires prior accounting experience in a D2C, e-commerce, marketplace, or consumer brand environment.

Candidates with experience limited to traditional accounting, CA firms, manufacturing, or service businesses - without exposure to online sales and payment reconciliations will not be suitable for this role and should not apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in software.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Prepare data for GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances.
• Perform bank, payment gateway, D2C and marketplace reconciliations.
• Reconcile sales, returns, commissions, delivery fees and deductions.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
• Maintain purchase, sales, and inventory records.
• Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements.
• Coordinate with auditors, CAs, and internal teams during audits and assessments.
• Prepare Salary sheets and pay slips
• Identify discrepancies in payment settlements and coordinate for resolution.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Coordinate with bank for loans.
• Coordinate with CA/CS for private investments.

Mandatory Requirements

• 2-5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a D2C, e-commerce, retail, marketplace, or consumer business.
• Hands-on experience reconciling online sales, refunds, COD remittances, payment gateway settlements, and logistics deductions.

• Experience in fashion, footwear, apparel, beauty, or another inventory-led consumer business.
• Exposure to marketplace accounting for Amazon, Myntra, Ajio, Nykaa, or similar platforms.
