Job summary

Uniformverse is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant or commerce professional to lead the accounting function in Surat. The role involves supervising ledgers, closing books, and ensuring statutory compliance in GST and TDS for a manufacturing setup.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Tally and ERP systems. The position requires independent operation and team leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and finalization of accounts.
• Ensure timely GST, TDS and other statutory compliance.
• Prepare financial statements, MIS reports and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, outstanding receivables, payables and working capital.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax consultants and statutory authorities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Review accounting entries, vouchers, invoices and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with Head Office, Plant, Purchase, Sales and other departments for financial data and reconciliations.
• Identify discrepancies, strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.
• Support management with financial analysis and accounting-related decision-making.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Accounts and Finance, preferably in a manufacturing organisation.
• B.Com / M.Com required; CA / CMA qualification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and finalization of accounts.
• Practical experience in GST, TDS, taxation, statutory compliance and audit coordination.
• Experience in ledger scrutiny, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable management.
• Good knowledge of Tally, ERP systems and MS Excel.
• Experience in preparing financial statements, MIS reports and cash flow statements.
• Ability to manage accounting operations independently and lead an accounts team.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience coordinating with Plant and Head Office will be an advantage.
• Manufacturing, textile, garment or footwear industry experience preferred.
