About Geekonomy
Geekonomy is a growth systems company that partners with businesses to create structure, clarity, and momentum in how they grow. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, branding, and marketing, bringing these capabilities together into integrated solutions designed to help businesses scale.
About the Role
We are looking for an Account Executive who can identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across Geekonomy's project-based and recurring growth solutions.
You will be responsible for generating your own pipeline, prospecting potential clients, understanding their business and growth objectives, conducting discovery conversations, positioning the right solution, negotiating commercials, and taking qualified opportunities through to closure.
The role covers solutions such as branding, website development, UI/UX, software and app development, digital marketing, SEO, social media, performance marketing, content, lead generation, and other technology and growth solutions.
This is a hands-on B2B sales role. You will be expected to create opportunities rather than depend entirely on inbound leads, build relationships with decision-makers, and take ownership of your sales numbers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build and Manage Your Pipeline
- Generate a consistent sales pipeline through outbound prospecting and business development.
- Identify and approach founders, business owners, CXOs, marketing leaders, and other relevant decision-makers.
- Use LinkedIn, cold outreach, referrals, networking, professional relationships, and other channels to create opportunities.
- Research prospects and understand their business before initiating conversations.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Follow up consistently and move opportunities through the sales cycle.
2. Understand the Client's Business
- Conduct meaningful discovery conversations with prospects.
- Understand the client's business model, goals, challenges, current marketing/growth efforts, and priorities.
- Identify the underlying business problem behind the stated requirement.
- Understand budgets, timelines, decision-making processes, and buying criteria.
- Assess whether Geekonomy's capabilities are genuinely suited to the client's needs.
- Identify whether the requirement calls for a project-based solution, an ongoing engagement, or a combination of capabilities.
3. Position and Sell the Right Solution
- Position Geekonomy as a business and growth solutions partner rather than simply a service vendor.
- Translate client requirements and business challenges into relevant commercial solutions.
- Work with internal teams to shape proposals, scopes, and solution approaches.
- Clearly communicate the business value and expected outcomes of the proposed solution.
- Identify genuine opportunities to expand the scope through additional services or capabilities.
- Sell solutions based on business outcomes rather than activities alone.
4. Own the Sales Cycle
- Prospecting and qualification
- Discovery meetings
- Requirement and business discussions
- Proposal coordination
- Presentations
- Follow-ups
- Objection handling
- Commercial discussions
- Negotiation
- Closing
- Handover to the relevant internal team
You will be expected to actively manage opportunities, maintain momentum, create urgency where appropriate, and move qualified prospects towards a decision.
5. Build Long-Term Business Relationships
- Build strong relationships with founders, business owners, CXOs, marketing heads, and senior stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships through longer buying cycles.
- Build trust through business understanding and consultative selling.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding existing relationships.
- Develop relationships that can generate referrals and future business.
6. CRM and Sales Discipline
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records.
- Keep lead and opportunity stages current.
- Document conversations, next steps, and follow-up dates.
- Maintain clear visibility of pipeline value and expected closures.
- Track pipeline, conversion, revenue, and other relevant sales metrics.
- Participate in regular sales reviews and reporting.
