Job summary

The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) invites applications for a 32-hour, 12‑month Specified Purpose contract as a Young Adult Support Worker in Clontarf. You will help deliver services to School Leavers with physical disabilities, enabling participation in community activities and personal development.

You will work with the School Leaver Service Support Officers and teams to run workshops, support personal goals, assist with transport, and promote safety and safeguarding across all activities.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Care Support or equivalent is essential.
• QQI Major Awards relevant to IWA include Community Health Services, Health Service Skills, Health Care Support, and Youth Work.

Responsibilities

• Support Service Manager and Support Officers to implement group workshops and activities.
• Assist young adults in personal goals and daily living activities.
• Support young adults in Rehabilitative Training activities and outings.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed and report hazards.
• Maintain records for services and participate in required training.
• Safeguard children and adults in line with IWA policies.
