Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association in Galway invites applications for a part-time Young Adult Support Worker (39 hours) on a specified purpose contract funded by arrangements. The role supports School Leaver Service participants with disabilities, delivering developmental and social inclusion activities in a community-based setting.

You will work with Service Managers and Officers to implement workshops, support personal goals, and promote independence, health and safety, and safeguarding across the

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Care Support or similar qualification is essential.
• Full Driving licence is required.
• Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations, plus transport safety and standards.

Responsibilities

• Support Service Manager and Officers to run group workshops and activities for young adults.
• Support individuals in line with person-centred approaches and Personal Goals.
• Assist with Rehabilitative Training activities.
• Assist with safe transportation per Transport Handbook guidelines.
• Support personal care and daily living needs of participants.
• Accompany and support outings, trips and holidays.
• Maintain records as required by managers.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed.
