Job summary

HPC Sales Ltd. is seeking a full-time Yard Operative in Navan to maintain the yard, support stock control, and assist customers with loading and deliveries. The role requires safe operation of yard equipment and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, stock checks, order preparation, and helping customers with loading their vehicles. Hours are 40 per week, with prospects for growth and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Hold a full clean driving licence.
• Motivated, able to work to deadlines and as part of a team.
• Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Receive, check and store stock.
• Pick and prepare customer orders for collection or delivery.
• Move and stack building materials around the yard.
• Assist customers with loading their vehicles.
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment where qualified.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy and well organised.
• Report damaged or missing goods and assist with stock control.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and work with Warehouse/Trade Counter teams.

Job Purpose: Yard Operative. Maintain the yard to a high standard and operate yard machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Receiving, checking and putting away stock.
• Picking and preparing customer orders for collection or delivery.
• Moving and stacking building materials around the yard.
• Assisting customers with loading their vehicles.
• Operating forklifts and other yard equipment where qualified.
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised.
• Checking stock and reporting damaged or missing goods.
• Assisting with goods-in and stock control.
• Ensuring materials are stored safely and securely.
• Following all company Health & Safety procedures.
• Working closely with the Warehouse and Trade Counter teams.
• Providing good customer service to customers and delivery drivers.
• Carrying out general yard duties as required by the Branch Manager.

Requirements:

• Display excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Full Clean Drivers Licence
• Be highly motivated and can work to set deadlines.
• Team player with ability to work on own initiative.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Good road knowledge of surrounding areas.
