Job summary

TJ O' Mahony, part of HPC Sales Ltd., in Arklow, is seeking a full-time Yard Operative to maintain the yard and operate yard machinery.

You will load/unload deliveries, assist customers, move stock, and work with the Warehouse and Trade Counter teams. A forklift licence and full driving licence are essential. 40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.

• Good road knowledge of surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Receiving, checking and putting away stock.
• Picking and preparing customer orders for collection or delivery.
• Moving and stacking building materials around the yard.
• Assisting customers with loading their vehicles.
• Operating forklifts and other yard equipment where qualified.
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised.
• Checking stock and reporting damaged or missing goods.
• Assisting with goods-in and stock control.
• Ensuring materials are stored safely and securely. Follow health & safety procedures.
• Working closely with the Warehouse and Trade Counter teams.
• Providing good customer service to customers and delivery drivers.
• Carrying out general yard duties as required by the Branch Manager.

Job Purpose: Yard Operative. Maintain the yard to a high standard and operate yard machinery.
