Job summary

Woodford Timber Products Limited in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, Ireland, seeks an experienced yard operative with forklift experience to join our manufacturing facility.

The role focuses on safe loading, packing and dispatch of timber products within a busy yard environment, supporting stock control and order preparation. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years in a yard/loading setting, Level 3 qualification, English fluency, and a practical, safety-minded approach.

Qualifications

• Forklift Counter Balance experience advantageous.
• Fluent English (written and verbal) required.

Responsibilities

• Picking, preparing and loading products for dispatch.

The Role:Woodford Timber, a well-established and highly reputable organisation based in Cavan are looking to expand their team and are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic yard operative based at their manufacturing facility in Ballyconnell.This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, safety-conscious forklift driver who has experience working within yard or logistics environments and is looking for long-term stability.Working as part of an experienced yard team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, preparation and dispatch of products.

Key requirements:Previous experience in a yard, or loading environment preferred as the role will involve planning, gathering and loading of goods.Awareness and experience of handling timber desirable.Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and moving heavy items.Manual handling and forklift training would be advantageous, although full training will be provided to successful candidates as necessary.Some computer literacy would be of benefit.Good attention to detail and accuracy.Flexibility around working hours may be required from time to time.Commitment to health & safety, accuracy, and following proceduresGood command of the English language - both written and verbal.

Responsibilities:Picking, preparing and loading products for customer orders.Packing and wrapping loads ready for dispatch.Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.Using forklifts and other equipment to move materials safely around the site.Checking orders and ensuring the correct products are prepared for dispatch, and completing the required paperwork and records accurately.Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard and storage areas.Conducting requisite forklift inspections as necessary.Following all Health & Safety, manual handling and operational procedures.Assisting with stock management including stock taking.Working closely with other members of the yard team to ensure orders are completed accurately and efficiently to meet delivery schedules.Carrying out other reasonable duties as required by the management team.
