McMahons Builders Providers is seeking a Yard/Warehouse Operative for its Portarlington branch. You will unload deliveries, pick customer orders, and help load vehicles to keep operations moving smoothly.

The role requires forklift experience, a full clean driving license, and good computer and communication skills. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week and opportunities to contribute to a busy, customer-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Unload products and building materials delivered to the site.
• Pick customer orders and assist with loading vehicles.
• Load trucks in advance of delivery.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in warehouse, yard and shop.
• Collaborate with branch staff to service customers efficiently.
• Assist with stock management and cycle counts.
• Support busy branch operations as needed.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures.

Description McMahons Builders Providers have been providing quality building supplies and DIY materials to the trade and public for over 190 years and have grown to become one of the largest independent builder’s providers on the island of Ireland, with a network of 12 stores, as well as a Truss Manufacturing plant and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches. McMahons are now seeking applications for the position of Yard/Warehouse Operative for their branch located in Portarlington. The Portarlington branch is a thriving builders providers branch with significant capacity to grow.

Responsibilities

• Off loading products and building materials being delivered to the site.
• Picking customer orders and assisting with the loading of customer vehicles.
• Loading trucks with products in advance of delivery to the customer.
• Assisting to maintain the highest standards of housekeeping in the warehouse, yard and shop.
• Working closely with all branch staff including transport and internal sales to ensure that the customers are serviced in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assisting with the stock management at the branch including stock taking and cycle counting.
• Dealing with other requests to support the operation of a busy branch as and when required.
• Following company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective.

The Person

The following mix of experience and attributes will be required by the successful candidate:

• Knowledge and experience of building materials would be advantageous.
• Experience in a yard / warehouse environment and driving forklifts.
• A full clean driving license is required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be computer literate.
