Job summary

Zimmer Biomet, a leading medical device company, is hiring a Product Builder for Weekend Night shifts on the production floor in Oranmore, Galway. You will perform CNC machining, NDT inspection, robotic finishing and cosmetic inspection to support high-quality outcomes.

You should have Leaving Certificate or equivalent, fluent English, and a willingness to work nights; training is provided and a shift premium applies. Competitive hourly rate and guaranteed hours offered.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
• 1+ year experience polishing or buffing a variety of metals is desirable but not essential.
• Experience operating CNC equipment preferred.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Working with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers.
• Experience of visual inspection to detect cosmetic irregularities in metal.
• Inspection of paperwork; attention to detail.
• Working in team/cellular environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell activities including polishing, deburring, cutting, straightening metal, finishing, cleaning.
• Operate CNC equipment for the production of products.
• Accurately identify cosmetic irregularities.
• Exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training of less qualified personnel.
• Correctly perform all steps of cleaning operation.
• Perform all NDT activities.
• Perform final buff for parts requiring additional work after robots finish.
• Operate robotic equipment for the production of products.
• Change belts and wheels as necessary for a proper finish.
• Visual inspection of parts and paperwork.
• Maintain all equipment in the department as required.
• Communicate with other team members and engineers concerning product defects.
• Perform all production POD activities as per training provided.
• Operate as part of a team to achieve productivity targets.
