Job summary

Zimmer Biomet in Oranmore, Co. Galway, is hiring multiple Product Builders for Fixed Day shifts supporting production on the floor.

Responsibilities include CNC machining, NDT inspection, robotic finishing and cosmetic inspection to deliver top quality parts. Ideal candidates will have Leaving Certificate, literacy in English, and experience or willingness to learn polishing, deburring and operating CNC equipment.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Experience with CNC/machining or willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Polishing, deburring, cutting, straightening metal and finishing.
• Operate CNC equipment for production of parts.
• Identify cosmetic irregularities accurately.
• Train less experienced personnel on the line.
• Perform cleaning steps and assist on NDT activities.
• Operate robotic equipment on the production line.
• Maintain equipment and communicate defects with the team.
• Cooperate to achieve department productivity targets.

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

Fixed Days

Production Floor - 7.00am -5.00pm Monday - Wednesday

Clean & Pack - 7.00am -5.00pm Monday - Wednesday

In this role you will be operating within the production floor, performing the following activities: CNC Machining, NDT Inspection, Robotic Finishing, and Cosmetic Inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell activities including polishing, deburring, cutting, straightening metal, finishing, cleaning.

• Operation of CNC equipment for the production of products.

• Accurately identifies cosmetic irregularities.

• Exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training of less qualified personnel.

• Correctly performs all steps of cleaning operation.

• Performs all NDT Activities

• Perform final buff for parts requiring additional work after robots finish.

• Operation of Robotic equipment for the production of products.

• Change belts and wheel as necessary for a proper finish.

• Visual inspection of parts and paperwork.

• Maintains all equipment in the department as it is required.

• Communicates with other Team members and engineers concerning product defects.

• Performs all production POD activities as per training provided.

• Operates as part of a team to achieve productivity Targets.

Requirements for the role:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.

• Computer literate

• Fluency in both written and spoken English

Desirable skills

• 1+ experience polishing or buffing a variety of metals is desirable but not essential.

• Experience operating CNC- CNC-controlled equipment preferred.

• Reading and interpreting blueprints.

• Working with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers.

• Experience of visual inspection to detect cosmetic irregularities in metal.

• Inspection of paperwork; attention to detail.

• Working in team/cellular environment.
