Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is assisting a prestigious hotel in Offaly, Ireland, to recruit a Wedding and Events Executive. You will manage enquiries from first contact to final execution, delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will conduct site visits, prepare proposals and contracts, guide clients through menus, décor, layouts and timelines, and coordinate with hotel departments and suppliers to ensure flawless events. Occasional evenings/weekends required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in weddings, events, or hospitality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a sales-driven approach.
• Proficiency with hotel/event management systems (e.g., Hotsoft).

Responsibilities

• Manage wedding and event enquiries from initial contact to final execution.

About Your New Job as a Wedding and Events Executive

• Manage wedding and event enquiries from initial contact to final execution, converting leads into confirmed bookings while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Conduct site visits, prepare proposals/contracts/function sheets, and guide clients through event planning including menus, décor, layouts, and timelines.
• Coordinate closely with hotel departments and external suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of weddings, conferences, and events.
• Track deposits, contracts, and payments while identifying upselling opportunities to enhance client experience and achieve revenue targets.
• Represent the hotel at wedding fairs, trade shows, and client meetings while maintaining awareness of competitor activity and local market trends.

What Skills You Need

• 2+ years’ experience in weddings, events, or hospitality (preferably in a 4-star hotel) with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a sales‑driven, customer‑focused approach.
• High attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to remain calm and proactive under pressure.
• Proficient in hotel/event management systems (e.g. Hotsoft or similar) with flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Professional, warm, and approachable personality; hospitality or event management qualification and knowledge of Irish wedding traditions/suppliers desirable.
