Job summary

Manpower - Ireland Galway is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support colleagues, manage materials receipt and issue, and help maintain a safe, efficient warehouse environment.

You will work with SAP and other inventory systems, perform cycle counts, and assist planning with shortages. A hands-on, self-motivated team member with strong planning and communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Leaving cert; 3rd level education is an advantage.
• Experience in a Warehousing or Manufacturing Leadership role.
• Very strong co-ordination, communication and planning skills.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently & as part of a team.
• A self- starter with a 'hands on' attitude and the ability to listen, learn & progress.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft programs including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support colleagues to maintain a positive environment while delivering excellence to customers.

• Receive all materials from external vendors as per internal procedures.
• Issue all raw material to the production floor promptly on a daily basis.
• Maintain complete & correct movements on SAP and other inventory control systems.
• Carry out daily cycle counts of raw materials and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare & check Finished Goods orders for transfer to Shipping.
• Support Production Cells by attending to their needs.
• Participate in team huddles for safety, inventory and issues or suggestions.
• Support Planning/Purchasing with shortages as they occur.
• Complete training requirements and required documentation.
• Support Plant wide programs including 6S, Recycling, and audits.
• Participate in CPI activities and drive improvements.

Job description

Description of duties and role responsibilities:

• The role involves supporting colleagues at MSA Galway to maintain a positive work environment while delivering excellence to our customers
• Own safety in the warehouse as an individual & as part of a team
• Accept any training required by this role: Warehouse machinery, Manual Handling, etc
• Understanding of departmental KPI's
• Responsible for receiving all materials from external vendors as per internal procedures
• Responsible for issuing all raw material to the production floor promptly on daily basis as per internal procedures
• Responsible for complete & correct movements on SAP and other inventory control systems
• Carry out daily cycle counts of raw materials in all warehouse areas and on the manufacturing floor, as created by Materials Supervisor, and investigate discrepancies
• Responsible for preparation & checking of all Finished Goods orders for transfer to Shipping as per internal procedures
• Support Production Cells by immediately attending to requirements of those cells
• Take part in team huddles ensuring timely updates on safety, inventory and any issues or suggestions
• Support Planning/ Purchasing team requests and communicate issues/ part shortages as they occur
• Complete all training requirements (both online courses and in house training) in timely manner and completion of any required documentation
• Support Plant wide programs including 6S, Recycling, and participate in audits where requested
• Support and participate in Continuous Improvement (CPI) activities within MSA Galway
• Drive performance and process improvements

Education / Experience & Requirements
