Job summary

KCS Logistics & Storage Ltd. in Rathcoole is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team. You will work on-site from 11am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, supporting receiving, picking, and packing activities in a chilled storage environment.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will operate forklifts, maintain the yard, and ensure accuracy and safety in all processes in a busy warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift in a cold storage environment.
• Experience receiving goods and picking/packing to order.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety procedures.
• Basic literacy to record information on handhelds and WMS.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods and check orders against WMS in a cold storage setting.
• Operate counterbalance, high reach, PPT and Aisle Master forklifts.
• Maintain warehouse and yard to meet audit standards.
• Record information on handheld device and WMS accurately.
• Follow FIFO, batch/date rotation and safety procedures.

Job description

Position Title: Warehouse Operative

Work Location: KCS Logistics and Cold Storage, Block 403, Grants Park, Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole, County Dublin, D24 YX77.

Days of Work: Monday to Friday

Hours of Work: 11am-7pm

Reporting To: Warehouse Supervisor

This is a full-time permanent role.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Receiving goods in, picking and checking orders for goods out using internal Warehouse Management System in a cold storage environment.
• Operating forklift.
• Maintaining warehouse and yard.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure that product is picked to correctly meet order requirements and is rotated correctly with reference to batch numbers and dates (FIFO method unless otherwise advised).
• Accurately record all relevant information onto the appropriate handhelds and system required by the business (including any functional and/or Customer).
• Ensure that all product going into dispatch and to the customer is signed off, has a pallet header attached detailing product name, product code, use by date, quantity by no./ weight/box according to product & customer specifications.
• Ensure that picked pallets are built in a stable manner to meet customer specifications and to avoid damage in transit, whilst optimising truck fill.
• Ensure picking process is executed accurately in order to facilitate a high stock count accuracy.
• Receiving goods in and inspecting in line with documented procedures.
• Pick and check orders in preparation for goods out.
• Assist in cycle counting and update WMS where required.
• Operate counterbalance, high reach, PPT and Aisle Master.
• Wear Company mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety boots and Hi-Vis at all times and Company uniform.
• Ensure food safety is maintained as applicable to your role.
• Report any incidents/accidents immediately to your Supervisor.
• Ensure all quality, hygiene and health & safety policies are adhered to including manual handling practices.
• Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are adhered to.
• Ensure that “a clean as you go policy” is adhered to at all times and ensure the yard & outside of dispatch area is clean during each shift to meet audit standards.
