Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment in Ireland is seeking an IT Support operative for a world‑leading electronics manufacturer based in Galway. The role supports production and warehouse teams in SAP data entry, IT system support and hands-on warehousing tasks in a clean semi‑warehouse environment.

You will maintain SAP movements, perform cycle counts, and assist planning and purchasing while contributing to CPI and 6S programs.

Qualifications

  • Leaving certificate, 3rd level education is advantageous.
  • Experience in warehousing or manufacturing leadership is beneficial.
  • Strong coordination, communication and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support SAP data entry, IT system support in a warehouse setting.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and assist with receiving/issuing materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory movements and support planning/purchasing.
  • Contribute to 6S, recycling and CPI initiatives in the Galway site.

Job description

Our client a world leader in electronic manufacturing is looking for a IT Support operative in their warehouse. This is an IT systems based operative role supporting the production and warehouse teams in SAP data entry, IT System Support and some hands on warehousing support from time to time. Based in a clean semi warehouse environment.

Description of duties and role responsibilities:
  • The role involves supporting colleagues at MSA Galway to maintain a positive work environment while delivering excellence to our customers
  • Own safety in the warehouse as an individual & as part of a team
  • Accept any training required by this role: Warehouse machinery, Manual Handling, etc
  • Understanding of departmental KPI’s
  • Responsible for receiving all materials from external vendors as per internal procedures
  • Responsible for issuing all raw material to the production floor promptly on daily basis as per internal procedures
  • Responsible for complete & correct movements on SAP and other inventory control systems
  • Carry out daily cycle counts of raw materials in all warehouse areas and on the manufacturing floor, as created by Materials Supervisor, and investigate discrepancies
  • Responsible for preparation & checking of all Finished Goods orders for transfer to Shipping as per internal procedures
  • Support Production Cells by immediately attending to requirements of those cells
  • Take part in team huddles ensuring timely updates on safety, inventory and any issues or suggestions
  • Support Planning/ Purchasing team requests and communicate issues/ part shortages as they occur
  • Complete all training requirements (both online courses and in house training) in timely manner and completion of any required documentation
  • Support Plant wide programs including 6S, Recycling, and participate in audits where requested
  • Support and participate in Continuous Improvement (CPI) activities within MSA Galway
  • Drive performance and process improvements
Education / Experience & Requirements
  • Leaving cert, 3rd level Education is an advantage
  • Experience in a Warehousing or Manufacturing Leadership role
  • Very strong co-ordination, communication and planning skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently & as part of a team
  • A self- starter with a ‘hands on’ attitude and the ability to listen, learn & progress
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft programs including Word and Excel
Desirables:
  • Manual Handling training / awareness
  • Good working knowledge of SAP
