Job summary

Ace Express Freight in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our on-site team on a permanent basis. The role operates 8:00am–5:00pm or 12:00pm–9:00pm, Monday–Friday, with a 6‑month probation.

Responsibilities include order picking, packing, loading/unloading, receiving and scanning goods, and maintaining accurate records while upholding health and safety standards. GDP/HAACP training is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ forklift experience in a busy warehouse environment.
• Valid, in-date forklift license.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service skills; GDP and HAACP training desirable.

• Carrying out warehouse and operational duties including picking, packing, checking, loading, unloading, and scanning safely and accurately.
• Completing relevant paperwork accurately and timely; maintaining records per procedures.
• Conduct pre-use vehicle and equipment checks and report defects per procedures.
• Report load discrepancies, damages, shortages, or overages promptly.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following Health & Safety procedures and keeping areas clean.
• Complete required training and adhere to company policies and standards as outlined in the handbook.
• Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.

About the Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and accurate handling and transportation of goods, while following safe driving practices and complying with Company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

Contract Type: Permanent (6-month probationary period).

Working Hours: 8.00am - 5.00pm or 12.00pm - 9pm, Monday - Friday.

Location: Ace Express Freight, Unit 5/6 M1 Business Park, Courtlough, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, K32 WY84.

Key Duties of the Role

• Carrying out a range of warehouse and operational duties including order picking, packing, checking, loading, unloading, and scanning in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Completing relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring records are maintained in accordance with Company procedures.
• Conduct pre-use vehicle and equipment checks, reporting any defects or issues in line with Company procedures.
• Report any load discrepancies, damages, shortages, or overages promptly and in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to Health Safety procedures and keeping work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards at all times.
• Complete all required training and maintain compliance with Company policies, procedures, and standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
