Job summary

Robinson Distribution Ltd are seeking a warehouse manager to join our expanding business in Portarlington, Co Laois. The role involves stock control, overseeing a busy stores team, and coordinating parts movement, paperwork, and dispatch for engineering products.

Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments and knowledge of machinery are advantageous. Training will be provided; forklift operation and strong computer skills (Word/Excel) are essential for daily duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deal with parts in high volume; identify part numbers and specifications.
• Unload and load items; operate forklift to move stock.
• Organise paperwork and dispatch items in a timely manner.
• Use software to allocate and forecast stock requirements.
• Maintain stock ownership for the factory and perform stock counts.
• Train and supervise junior stores team members.
• Improve processes to increase efficiency in stores and assembly operations.

Robinson Distribution Ltd are currently seeking a warehouse manager to join our expanding business

Robinsons are a leading Engineering company who specialise in the manufacturing of trailers, tippers, truck bodies and cranes. Based in Portnahinch, Portarlington, Co Laois R32 CD40 with sales locally and overseas.

Duties include

• Dealing with parts -high volume of different parts coming in and going out.
• Knowledge of the actual parts, so preferably someone from motor trade, manufacturing etc. that knows what the parts are axles, wheels, bolts etc.
• Ability to drive fork truck to load and unload & organise paper work in timely manner
• Experience unloading oversized pallets and stillages.
• Be able to talk to the customer and to understand the technicalities of what part they are looking for and organise paper work to dispatch items.
• Stock counting experience. Required to have ownership of stock for the Factory.
• Stock organisation skills - Leading to using software package to allocate and forecast future stock requirements
• Proactive in organising the stores to be its most efficient in terms of assembly bay picking for manufacturing and goods out for customers.
• General maintenance duties around the factory as observed.
• Issue Purchase orders for consumables and other stock as required.
• Train & Supervise junior member of the stores team.
• Process driven, ensure current processes are maintained and improve these over time, how can we be better?

Full training will be provided.

Requirements

• Must have a good working knowledge of machinery.
• Similar experience in a busy manufacturing environment is ideal
• Knowledge of Engineering, plant machinery or Agricultural machinery is an advantage.
• Ability to manage team members.
• Proficient on computer operation.
• Must have experience in the use of Microsoft Word & Excel
• Excellent communication skills.
