At Gourmet Food Parlour, we have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and experienced Front of House team member to join our team at our Swords Restaurant.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment, takes pride in delivering great service and is keen to develop their skills and grow with the brand.
This is a part-time role of approximately 20-30 hours per week, with good flexibility required, particularly for midweek shifts.

What we're looking for
- A minimum of 1 year's hospitality experience, with experience as waiting staff in a waitress-service restaurant or cafe
- Strong Front of House and table-service experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in hospitality
- Good timekeeping and attendance - reliability is important to us
- A proactive approach, with the ability to think on your feet and deal with challenges during a busy service
- Good food knowledge, including menu and allergen awareness
- An understanding of HACCP and food safety procedures, with a commitment to following them at all times
- Confidence explaining menu options and making recommendations based on customers' preferences
- Experience with upselling and identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience
- Ability to take orders accurately and ensure they are communicated clearly to the kitchen
- Ability to respond to customer questions, requests and concerns in a polite and efficient manner
- Good attention to detail when setting tables, serving food and maintaining presentation standards
- Ability to keep the floor and waitress stations organised, clean, stocked and ready for service
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the restaurant, including tables, service areas and equipment
- Completing cleaning duties and ensuring the restaurant is properly cleaned, reset and ready for the next shift
- Confidence handling cash and card payments and following appropriate cash-handling procedures
- Good understanding of relevant health and safety, food hygiene and HACCP standards
- Barista skills are appreciated but not essential - experience preparing coffee and hot beverages is an advantage
- Experience with drinks service is an advantage, but full bar experience is not essential
