Job summary

The Rehab Group in Dublin is seeking a Vocational Training Instructor on a permanent, full-time basis (36 hours per week). The role focuses on training and development of Learners with support needs, promoting progression to education or employment.

Key requirements include a third-level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences, QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer, and several years’ relevant experience, with strong facilitation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences.
• QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer or higher.
• Several years' experience working with Learners in educational/guidance contexts.
• Experience in QQI certification and accreditation processes.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to curricula, with responsibility for instruction of modules for QQI Level certification.
• Facilitate learners in developing knowledge, skills and confidence for progression.
• Meet KPIs for learner placement, progression and certification targets.
• Liaise with stakeholders to maintain programme allocations.
• Assist Learners in reviewing experiences and exploring future goals using occupational interest, education and problem-solving techniques.
• Develop Individual Action Plans to support progression and assess vocational rehabilitation needs.
• Source and support work experience placements and instill proper work attitudes and behaviours.

Vocational Training Instructor

Permanent contract, Full-time /36 hours per week.

Job Purpose

The Vocational Training Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.

What we're looking for:

• Third level qualification, preferably within the Education/Training or Social Sciences sector.
• A relevant pedagogical/training qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum.
• A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with Learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts.
• Experience in QQI certification and accreditation processes.
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI Level certification.
• Facilitate participants in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to secure progression outcomes.
• Meet key performance indicators in relation to learner placement and progression and achievement of certification targets.
• As part of a team liaise appropriately with relevant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations.
• Assist Learners in reviewing previous experiences and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques.
• Collaborate on the development of Individual Action Plans to support each Learner’s progression, Evaluate the vocational rehabilitation needs of each Learner and produce a profile of those needs.
• Source and support work experience placements and instil by example and direct training, proper work attitudes and work behaviours.

Closing Date: 6th September 2026

Salary starting from point 1€35,740.34to point 5€43,319.87pro rata. The 14-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to€60,373.79 pro rata.
