Job summary

The Rehab Group is seeking a Relief Instructor to support training and development of all trainees on their programme. The role covers day‑to‑day management and ensuring adherence to the training programme specification.

It is a fixed‑term contract with 12 months duration and variable hours. The successful candidate will have a third‑level or FE qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences, a pedagogical/training qualification, and experience in specialised training environments,

Qualifications

Third‑level or Further Education qualification in Education/Training or Social Sciences.
A relevant pedagogical/training qualification (e.g. Train the Trainer).
Experience of working in a specialised training environment.
Experience of working with young people with additional support needs including intellectual disabilities, ASD, physical and sensory needs and/or mental health difficulties.

Responsibilities

Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, maintaining records of trainees' progress.
Maintain records of all training and produce required reports.
As part of the rehabilitative team, evaluate trainees' vocational rehabilitation needs and provide feedback.
Develop curricula and rehabilitation interventions with peers and managers.
Plan for individual student community integration in line with HSE New Directions.

Relief Instructor

Fixed‑term contract 12 months / Variable hours

Salary: 19.09 per hour.

Job Purpose

The Instructor shall be responsible for the training and development of all trainees on their programme in accordance with the agreed training programme specification (TPS), together with day‑to‑day management and maintenance of all aspects of the programme.

Qualifications and experience

Third‑level or Further Education qualification, preferably within the Education/Training or Social Sciences sector.
A relevant pedagogical/training qualification (e.g. Train the Trainer).
Experience of working in a specialised training environment.
Experience of working with young people with additional support needs including intellectual disabilities, ASD, physical and sensory needs and/or mental health difficulties.

Your responsibilities

Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, maintain all records required for monitoring trainees' progress.
Maintain records of all training in accordance with both internal and external quality standards and produce reports as required.
As a key member of the rehabilitative team, evaluate the vocational rehabilitation needs of each trainee and produce a profile of those needs, instil proper work attitudes and behaviours, and provide trainees with adequate feedback about their progress and future rehabilitation objectives.
Develop curricula and innovative rehabilitation interventions in cooperation with peers, manager and programme development officer.
Develop and carry out plans for individual student community integration in line with HSE New Directions.
