Job summary

Charles River Development, a State Street company, seeks a Security Architect, VP to lead the Security Architecture team within Product Security. You will guide complex reviews across products, scale the practice, and drive security decisions with senior stakeholders.

You will own security positions on identity, authentication, authorization, data protection, and cryptography, while partnering with DevSecOps to automate controls and secure defaults across platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security architecture and product security, with secure-SDLC and threat-modelling experience.
• 3+ years in direct people management, leading security professionals.
• Proven ability to drive complex architecture reviews with senior stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of web/API/cloud security and distributed systems.
• Experience integrating security with CI/CD pipelines and platform controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication for engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Security Architecture team, including coaching and career development.
• Own daily operations and prioritization of the practice, ensuring quality and timely output.
• Build a team that makes independent decisions with escalation for novel/high-risk matters.
• Lead security architecture reviews and threat-modelling across products and cloud services.
• Provide clear security positions on identity, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Represent Security Architecture in governance forums with senior leaders.
• Translate policies into practical security requirements and reference architectures.
• Partner with DevSecOps and platform teams to automate secure defaults and controls.
• Define design commitments that can be validated via security testing.
• Report review demand, risks, dependencies, and open decisions to leadership.
