Job summary

Dublin Simon Community is seeking a Volunteer and Student Placement Officer to manage recruitment, placements and records for over 120 part-time volunteers and 23 full-time volunteers in Dublin. This fixed-term role requires strong organisational and communication skills and a commitment to the organisation’s mission.

Based in Smithfield, Dublin 7, the role offers hybrid working after induction and involves liaising with university partners, coordinating placements, and maintaining confidential

Qualifications

• Organised and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Independent worker capable of taking responsibility and seeking guidance when needed.
• Clear, friendly, professional communication skills for volunteers and students.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and databases; able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment for volunteers and students, advertise roles, interview, and process placements.
• Be the main contact for volunteers and students, provide guidance and check-ins, track placements.
• Coordinate international partners, education placements and housing arrangements for volunteers.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, Garda vetting, training records and placement paperwork.
• Support budgets, invoices and general admin tasks according to Dublin Simon Community policies.
