Job summary

Dublin Simon Community in Smithfield, Dublin 7, is seeking a Volunteer Office Officer to support the recruitment, placement and day‑to‑day administration for volunteers and students. The role involves handling records, Garda vetting, inductions and liaising with staff and partners.

The position offers hybrid working after an induction period and reports to the Volunteer, Community Employment & Student Placement Manager.

Qualifications

• A relevant third‑level qualification and at least two years’ paid experience in administration, recruitment, volunteer support or similar work.
• Excellent organisation and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication and confidentiality in handling volunteer records.
• Experience with Garda vetting and placement administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment for part‑time and full‑time volunteers, college students and Transition Year students.
• Prepare offers, contracts and placement agreements; complete reference checks and Garda vetting; coordinate training and onboarding paperwork.
