Unum Ireland invites a UX Design Intern to work with experienced designers and researchers on real business challenges within Unum's digital transformation. You will gain hands-on exposure to the end-to-end design process from user research to testing and validation across web and mobile platforms.
You will learn to create journey maps, user flows and prototypes while collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to accessibility and design system initiatives.
Unum Technology Centre in Carlow serves as a strategic software development and IT services centre supporting Unum, a leading provider of income protection in the US. Our team of IT professionals build solutions and critical business applications to digitally transform the way we do business. UX Designers employ a user centred, design thinking approach to design products that are user friendly and a joy to use. Starting first with the user in mind, they will employ a range of methods such as interviews, surveys and usability studies to identify what the users’ needs are and what jobs they are trying to complete. Based on that, they will create user flows and wireframes which they can use to test the idea and also to communicate the idea to other stakeholders. From there, they will create high fidelity prototypes that can be tested, refined and built.
As a UX Intern, you'll work alongside experienced UX designers and researchers on real business challenges that support Unum's digital transformation efforts. You'll gain hands‑on experience across the end‑to‑end design process, from understanding user needs through research to designing and validating solutions. You will have the opportunity to:
