US GL Financial Reporting Accountant

Job summary

Teleflex, based in Ireland, seeks a qualified accountant to handle general ledger-related reporting for US entities in a dynamic shared services environment. You will assist with US GAAP accounts, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and tax compliance while supporting forecasts and annual plans.

You will collaborate with the Transaction Processing group in Athlone and help prepare cost centre analyses, financial data for auditors, and maintain internal controls with SOX compliance,

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA certification.
• Experience in a Shared Service Centre or similar environment.
• Demonstrated SAP experience and strong IT skills.
• Excellent IT skills with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong discretion and confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The position is responsible for general ledger-related reporting duties for US entities.

• Assist in preparation of US GAAP accounts and month end close
• Completion and review of Balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure the presentation to corporate of financial data on a timely and accurate basis.
• Supporting the preparation of forecasts and annual plans.
• Preparation of detailed Cost Centre analysis
• Collaboration with the Transaction Processing group in Athlone
• Ensure the integrity and SOX compliance of financial, administrative and legal controls in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax and fiscal requirements
• Prepare the information requested by internal and external auditors
• Ensuring the integrity of internal financial controls
• Ad hoc tasks as required to support Finance Function
• Back up for other colleagues where necessary
• Participate in mentoring programme within team

Education / Experience Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Previous Experience in a Shared Service Centre
• SAP user level experience
• Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail with good time management skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
