Job summary

Teleflex is hiring for a General Ledger Accountant to manage European entities’ reporting. The role covers US GAAP close, balance sheet reconciliations, cost centre analyses, and SOX controls in a hybrid setup in Ireland. Collaboration with Athlone finance teams is key.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with SSC experience, SAP proficiency and strong IT skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines and handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist US GAAP close and month-end processes for European entities.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and cost centre analyses.
• Collaborate with Transaction Processing in Athlone and ensure SOX/compliance.
• Support forecasts and annual plans, and respond to auditors’ requests.
• Maintain internal financial controls and assist mentoring within the team.

Position Summary

The position is responsible for general ledger-related reporting duties for European entities.

• Assist in preparation of US GAAP accounts and month end close
• Completion and review of Balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure the presentation to corporate of financial data on a timely and accurate basis.
• Supporting the preparation of forecasts and annual plans.
• Preparation of detailed Cost Centre analysis
• Collaboration with the Transaction Processing group in Athlone
• Ensure the integrity and SOX compliance of financial, administrative and legal controls in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax and fiscal requirements
• Prepare the information requested by internal and external auditors
• Ensuring the integrity of internal financial controls
• Ad hoc tasks as required to support Finance Function
• Back up for other colleagues where necessary
• Participate in mentoring programme within team

Education / Experience Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Previous Experience in a Shared Service Centre
• SAP user level experience
• Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail with good time management skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
