Job summary

Citi Dublin lightspeed UI team seeks a UI Technical Lead – Frontend Engineering to own the architectural direction and engineering quality of the Lightspeed UI chapter. This hands-on leadership role balances coding with mentoring, code reviews and setting technical direction.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Backend and Platform Engineering, manage the component library, emphasize AI-assisted development, and drive high-quality delivery from idea to production in a hybrid team.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend engineering and leadership with ability to influence architecture.
• Deep hands-on Angular expertise; Angular v21.
• Expert TypeScript skills with advanced types and generics.
• Production experience with React and modern frontend practices.
• Understanding of micro-frontends, Module Federation, Nx and scalable state management.
• Experience with shared component libraries or design systems.
• Proactive debt identification and architectural improvements.
• Excellent communication across Engineering, Product and Design.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve frontend architecture, standards and practices.
• Build production software across complex features and performance initiatives.
• Identify and address technical debt and risks.
• Lead technical design and code reviews, mentoring the team.
• Own the component library and design system integration.
• Champion AI-assisted development and validated output.
• Collaborate with Backend and Platform Engineering on integration patterns and CI/CD.
• Manage technical Jira work and drive architectural improvements.
• Work with Product and Design to keep priorities visible.
• Mentor UI Developers and support career development.
