Job summary

Citi is hiring a UI Technical Lead – Frontend Engineering in Dublin. You will own the architectural direction for the Lightspeed UI, balancing hands-on coding with mentoring and reviews.

You’ll collaborate across Product, Design, Backend and Platform Engineering to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes at scale. You will champion design systems, a shared component library, and advanced frontend patterns while driving improvements and debt reduction.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend engineering and leadership capable of influencing architecture.
• Hands-on Angular experience and production code delivery.
• Expert TypeScript with advanced types and compiler configuration.
• Knowledge of SOLID principles and clean architecture.
• Experience with React and modern frontend practices.
• Understanding of micro-frontends, Nx, and scalable state management.
• Proficient in Git, CI/CD, monorepos and code reviews.
• Track record in debt reduction and architectural improvements.
• Experience with shared component libraries or design systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tooling for development.

Responsibilities

• Own frontend architecture, standards and engineering practices.
• Build production software for complex features and performance upgrades.
• Lead technical design and code reviews, mentoring the team.
• Own component library and design system integration.
• Drive AI-assisted development with tested and secure output.
• Collaborate with Backend and Platform Eng to define integration patterns.
• Manage Jira work and drive architectural improvements to completion.
• Partner with Product and Design to keep priorities visible.
