Job summary

Citi in Dublin seeks a UI Technical Lead - Frontend Engineering to own the architectural direction and engineering quality of the Lightspeed UI chapter. This hands-on leadership role balances coding with mentoring, code reviews, and ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes.

You will work with Product, Design, Backend and Platform Engineering to shape the platform for the future and drive delivery from idea to deployment.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend engineering and leadership experience.
• Expert Angular with current version in production environment.
• Advanced TypeScript skills including generics and types.
• Solid understanding of SOLID, design patterns and clean architecture.
• Production experience with React and modern frontend practices.
• Knowledge of frontend architecture like micro-frontends and state management.
• Experience with CI/CD and collaboration in code reviews.
• Experience owning or contributing to a shared component library.
• Proven ability to identify and address technical debt.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Lightspeed frontend architecture and standards.
• Build production software for complex features and performance improvements.
• Identify and address technical debt and architectural risks.
• Lead design reviews and mentor the team to raise engineering standards.
• Own component library and design system integration for Lightspeed UI.
• Promote AI-assisted development with validated, tested output.
• Collaborate with Backend and Platform Engineering on integration patterns.
• Manage technical Jira work from bugs to architectural changes.
• Ensure visibility of priorities, dependencies, and risks with Product/Design.
• Mentor UI developers and support career growth.
