Job summary

SITA Group in Ireland seeks a Lead Software Developer (UI Tech Lead) to drive modern customer-facing applications using React, TypeScript and a Micro-Frontend architecture, guiding design and engineering standards across the AMS Modernisation Programme.

You will collaborate with Product, UX and Backend teams (Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs) and apply AI-assisted development practices to improve quality, speed and scalability while mentoring engineers and delivering secure, maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including a senior/lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience designing modern front-end architecture and reusable components.
• Experience with Micro-Frontend architectures.
• Knowledge of modern UI engineering practices including state management, testing, performance, accessibility and responsive design.
• Experience integrating front-end with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Good knowledge of Java and Spring Boot or close collaboration with Java/Spring teams.
• Experience building and delivering cloud-native applications.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and secure software practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools within the SDLC.
• Strong technical leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and delivery of modern, responsive UI using React and TypeScript.
• Define and evolve the Micro-Frontend architecture, components and UI patterns.
• Set and promote UI engineering standards for scalability and maintainability.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership including design, coding, reviews and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture and Engineering to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Work with backend teams (Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices).
• Contribute to cloud-native solution design including security, observability and performance.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Support delivery of AI-powered capabilities and RAG/agentic AI where appropriate.
• Drive automated testing, CI/CD and secure software practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and mentor developers to adopt modern UI technologies.
