Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Frontend Engineer in Dublin, Ireland, operating in a hybrid role. You will join a cross-functional Agile team to design, build, test, and release robust frontend features using JavaScript and TypeScript.

You will work with Product Design and other stakeholders to translate user needs into scalable frontend solutions, ensuring quality, security, and cross-browser compatibility while embracing modern development practices and AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on software development experience.
• Experience building production frontend applications with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and the DOM.
• Experience integrating frontend apps with backend APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Experience writing unit and integration tests and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Secure frontend development practices.
• Experience ensuring cross-browser and cross-device reliability.
• Experience incorporating AI-powered tools into development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cross-functional Agile team, participating in planning, design, development, and release activities.
• Partner with Product Design and stakeholders to translate user needs into frontend solutions.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for design, development, testing, and quality of deliverables.
• Develop clean, maintainable, performant frontend code following team standards.
• Write well-tested code with appropriate coverage and participate in code reviews.
• Ensure applications work securely and efficiently across browsers and devices.
• Contribute to monitoring, troubleshooting, and post-incident improvements.
• Identify areas for improvement in code/UX/development processes and propose solutions.
• Provide input into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with teammates to foster a supportive, growth-focused environment.
