Job summary

Rue Gilt Groupe, Inc. in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Front-End) to own the front-end architecture for the Merchandising Engineering team.

You will work on a new React/TypeScript codebase and set patterns for AI-assisted development using Claude across the lifecycle. You will port and rebuild tooling from a legacy Angular system to a modern SaaS platform, building data-dense internal UIs and integrating with backend services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of front-end engineering experience.
• Deep experience with React and TypeScript; you’ve structured production applications from the ground up.
• Fluency with AI coding assistants (Claude or similar) as part of daily workflow.
• Experience building scaffolding for AI tooling (prompt libraries, agent skills, repo conventions).
• Comfortable reading/working within Angular and Vue (expertise not required).
• Experience building internal, data-heavy admin/tools applications.
• Solid grasp of Node.js ecosystem, build tooling, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience consuming REST or GraphQL APIs; familiarity with event-driven backends (Kafka) is a plus.
• Knowledge of design systems and component libraries.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience in Agile/Kanban environments.
• Fluency in English; strong interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end architecture for the Merchandising Engineering team using React and TypeScript; define patterns and testing standards.
• Define AI-assisted front-end development standards and reusable Claude skills and repo rules.
• Port or rebuild internal merchandising tools from legacy Angular to the new commerce platform.
• Build data-dense internal UIs with performance in mind; support large tables and multi-step workflows.
• Integrate front-end with platform APIs and collaborate with backend engineers on data contracts.
• Operate in an SDLC with incremental delivery and encourage experimentation.
• Collaborate with merchandisers, product managers and engineers to ship tooling.
• Lead by example through code reviews, pairing, and shared conventions.
