Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform safety assessments of cosmetic ingredients and finished products
• Provide proactive safety guidance throughout the new product development process
• Review and approve raw materials against safety, policy and regulatory requirements
• Prepare Cosmetic Product Safety Reports in line with Product Information File requirements
• Carry out ingredient risk and exposure assessments, sourcing relevant toxicity data
• Review safety testing results across different cosmetic product types
• Support causality assessments relating to undesirable product effects
• Contribute to wider product safety initiatives and deliver tasks to agreed deadlines

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology or another relevant scientific discipline
• Some experience interpreting toxicological data, preparing chemical profiles or conducting relevant scientific safety assessments
• Good knowledge of EU Cosmetics Regulation, cosmetic safety assessment and relevant guidance
• Excellent attention to detail, with strong organisational and communication skills
