Qualifications

Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Formulation Specialist to join their team in Athenry, Galway on a permanent contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead product formulation from concept to full-scale production
• Own and manage detailed product specifications and quality standards
• Define shelf-life and stability testing requirements
• Ensure all technical and regulatory documentation is aligned and accurate
• Approve final product formulations before production launch
• Work with regulatory teams to ensure global compliance (US, EMEA, APAC)
• Support product registration and technical documentation globally
• Lead and manage external manufacturers and consultants
• Oversee pilot production, scale-up, and early manufacturing batches
• Drive innovation by evaluating new ingredients and supporting future product development

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Food Science, Cosmetic Science, or related discipline
• 8+ years’ experience in formulation development (nutrition, supplements, or cosmetics)
• Experience working with CDMOs and pilot-to-commercial scale-up
• Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and stability principles
• Ability to operate within regulated environments
• Familiar with ISO9001, ISO22716 & GMP CFR 111
• Experience across both ingestible and topical formulations (desirable)
