Job summary

Canada Life Group Services in Europe seeks a senior manager to lead technology risk management, controls assurance and issue oversight. The role drives governance, testing, remediation, and reporting to executive leadership across Europe, ensuring effective control environments and timely remediation of issues.

You will lead a team, partner with risk, compliance and internal audit, and contribute to a culture of strong risk management and accountability within Canada Life.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in technology risk management, controls assurance or governance within a complex environment.
• Significant experience designing and operating IT control testing or assurance programmes.
• Strong governance, risk and compliance tooling knowledge (ServiceNow, Archer, MetricStream, AuditBoard).
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Preferred qualifications such as CRISC; CGEIT; CISM; CISA or relevant audit/risk certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Technology Controls Assurance Framework, methodology and operating model.
• Oversee the annual risk-based control testing plan and ensure consistent assessments across key tech and cyber controls.
• Provide assurance reporting and insights to senior management and governance committees.
• Lead Technology Issues Management process and governance framework.
• Monitor remediation progress and drive reductions in overdue actions.
• Escalate significant deficiencies to senior leadership.
