Job summary

Toast is seeking a senior software engineer to lead end-to-end architecture for backend services and data systems in a hybrid Dublin office setup. You will collaborate with product owners to identify opportunities and deliver durable, auditable tooling and analytics that support engineering health and ROI tracking.

The role requires 5+ years in production full-stack development, strong backend/API/SQL skills, and experience with agentic engineering practices.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production full-stack systems.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Kotlin, or TypeScript).
Strong backend, API integration, SQL and data modeling skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the team's technical lead, owning the end-to-end architecture and direction of our services, internal tools, and data systems, and driving significant projects from design through rollout.
Design and build the backend services and integrations that ingest engineering, tooling, and cost signals from multiple source systems, with clear APIs and data contracts.
Own quality, reliability, and operational monitoring for business-critical reporting that leaders at every level depend on.
