Job summary

Toasttab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Identity Management team, building reliable code for user management, authentication, and permissions in a high-volume SaaS platform.

You will partner with product, design, data, and other engineers to deliver scalable microservices, ensure security, and drive best practices across development, testing, and deployments while mentoring teammates in a hybrid Dublin office two days per week.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java, Kotlin or another OO language with strong testing and quality practices.
• Deep understanding of microservices, distributed systems and enterprise messaging.
• Familiar with asynchronous tools such as Pulsar, JMS or Kafka.
• Proven track record delivering reliable services to production.
• Excellent communication and ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Experience in IAM space is a plus.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team working collaboratively with UX, PM, QA and other engineers designing, building and maintaining high performance, flexible and highly scalable microservices, as well as development of web and mobile applications.
• Define best practices and help choose technologies to evolve our current tech. stack while writing world-class applications.
• Championing best practices such as quality integration and unit testing.
• Tackle scaling challenges and implement robust solutions.
• Provide design feedback and participate in code reviews to ensure implementations meet requirements.
• Monitor feature rollouts to ensure customer success, iterating and improving when necessary.
