Job description

About EV Charging Ireland

EV Charging Ireland is an established nationwide provider of EV charging, solar PV, battery storage and energy-monitoring solutions.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an organised and motivated Technical Administrator to join our office team in Carrick-on-Shannon.

This is a varied position combining administration, customer communication and support for our sales and technical teams. The successful candidate will assist with the administrative stages of a job, from the initial enquiry and quotation process through to installation, certification, payment and after-sales support.

The position would particularly suit someone who has strong administrative and communication skills together with a genuine interest in technology, construction, electrical services or renewable energy.

The role

The successful candidate will communicate professionally with customers while maintaining complete and accurate information within our CRM and internal systems.

As part of the role, you will develop an understanding of our products and services, different job types and commonly used electrical and technical terminology. This knowledge will enable you to answer routine customer questions, recognise the information required at each stage and provide effective support to our sales and technical teams.

A structured onboarding and training programme will be provided, together with ongoing guidance from experienced team members. As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will be encouraged to manage your assigned responsibilities with increasing independence, use sound judgement and take ownership of progressing your work.

There will also be opportunities to expand the position and become involved in additional operational responsibilities, including supporting scheduling activities, as the role develops.

Key responsibilities
  • Managing customer communications by telephone, email, WhatsApp and internal systems
  • Processing new enquiries and maintaining accurate customer and job records within our CRM
  • Requesting, checking and recording the information, and documentation required at each stage of a job
  • Sending confirmations, appointment reminders, progress updates and clear information on next steps
  • Supporting administration relating to EV charging, solar PV, energy monitoring, grants, certification, warranties and service calls
  • Developing the product and service knowledge required to answer common customer questions accurately
  • Supporting quotation administration and following up on required customer information and payments
  • Monitoring assigned tasks and follow-ups to ensure they progress within the required timeframes
  • Preparing clear and complete information for the sales and technical teams
  • Referring technical, financial or operational decisions to the appropriate team member
About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in developing a career within the renewable‑energy or technical‑services sector
  • Is organised, dependable and committed to producing accurate work
  • Communicates clearly and professionally by telephone and in writing
  • Takes responsibility for assigned work and follows tasks through to completion
  • Uses initiative and sound practical judgement within the scope of their role
  • Can work independently following training while recognising when guidance is required
  • Enjoys learning and applying new knowledge to day‑to‑day situations
  • Is confident using technology and learning new digital systems
  • Is motivated to develop their capabilities and take on additional responsibility over time
Experience and skills

Applicants should have:

  • Previous experience in administration, customer support, technical support or a similar office‑based role
  • Strong telephone, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Experience maintaining customer records and managing follow‑up actions
  • Competence using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft 365
  • Experience using a CRM, job‑management, scheduling or similar digital system
  • The ability to manage different priorities in an organised and professional manner

Experience within construction, electrical services, engineering, renewable energy, field services or another technical environment would be a distinct advantage. Relevant administrative or customer‑support experience within one of these sectors would also be welcomed.

Previous knowledge of EV charging, solar PV or energy monitoring is not essential. However, applicants should have a genuine interest in learning about our sector, products and services.

What we offer
  • A permanent position within a growing Irish renewable‑energy business
  • Structured onboarding and full training on our products, services and systems
  • Ongoing guidance and support from experienced team members
  • The opportunity to develop valuable knowledge of EV charging, solar PV and energy management
  • A varied role with scope to take on greater responsibility as experience develops
