Job summary

FBD Holdings PLC in Ireland seeks an Underwriting Team Lead to drive profitability in the Commercial & Fleet lines. You will lead a team of underwriters, set strategy with the Commercial Underwriting Manager, and coordinate with Sales and Claims to maintain service levels.

Key qualifications include CIP and at least 5 years of relevant experience. The role emphasizes leadership, technical underwriting knowledge, and strong communication in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Support profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.

• Implement quality assurance to ensure underwriting standards.

About the Role

FBD’s strategy includes the objective to profitably grow our Commercial & Fleet Business.

We are seeking to appoint an Underwriting Team Lead to support the continued growth of our Commercial Business across, Property and Liability and fleet lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with and reporting to the Commercial Underwriting Manager the successful person will be results and service focused and key responsibilities will include;

• - Support achievement of profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.
• - Support and implement FBD Strategy in Commercial & Fleet Underwriting.
• - Develop and implement overall service level agreements to ensure excellent service is provided to FBD Sales Branches and our Broker panel.
• - Provide technical referral support to the team, Sales and Claims colleagues on technical queries.
• - Implementing and report on quality assurance measures to ensure business is underwritten to the required standards.
• - Implement, administer, and report to relevant stakeholders on underwriting strategies and objectives.
• - Manage the performance of the team to support achievement of objectives.
• - Ensure staff receive the appropriate training and development to optimise performance.
• - Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
• - Ability to manage and support a team in both operational and technical environments.

Education

Achieved a professional insurance qualification qualified to a minimum level of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP).
